Congratulations are in order to our brilliant interior designer, Marie Meko from Gabberts Design Studio.  Ms. Meko recently received the American Society of Interior Designers Award for Outstanding Design for our Croatian Villa & Winery.

Back in 2010, Lee & Penny Anderson, the owners of  Villa Korta Katarina & Winery, commissioned Ms. Meko to completely redesign an abandoned 1930's hotel with stunning Adriatic Sea views.  From concept to completion, the first phase of the project was to construct the property's winery, then, to create the ultimate 5-star experience.  Marie took the skeletal remains of the dilapidated hotel's interior and crafted ten exquisitely unique suites, and designed all the common areas for both intimate and extravagant gatherings. 

After an intense labor of love and almost a decade's worth of planning, Villa Korta Katarina & Winery is now one of the most sought after destinations in Croatia and a featured member of Relais & Chateaux association.
